Creating a new stone patio

stone patio Portland Oregon

Do you have an area that just begs for a new sitting area. Perhaps it is because you have a special view that you want to sit and enjoy. Or maybe just a spot that you want to sit in to just enjoy the surroundings. You also want to keep it fairly natural looking to blend in so you choose stone. Here are a few examples.

This is a natural area with a terrific beach view but no place to really sit and enjoy it. So we carved out a stone pathway down to a fairly level area and created a stone patio and sitting area. We then took a path further down the hill and built a second patio that was larger with a fire pit to create an enjoyable spot for evening relaxing.

Then we built a third gravel pathway with steps that went all the way down to the beach. However half way down we carved out a third stone sitting area to catch the view and perhaps to catch your breathe from the climb back up.

When you have a view that is this spectacular you want to take advantage of it anyway you can.

Complete backyard re-do.

Barclay’s Gardens is very reasonable and quick to get things done. They did a complete redo of our back including rock work, pathways, fire pit and plantings. They were punctual and responsive. The back now looks great!!

Do yourself a favor and use Barclay’s Gardens & More

Barclay and his crew did a total make over of my landscape including patios, walkways, lighting and new plants. I got more then my moneys worth! They even pitched in at the end and helped me put together a deck canopy I had purchased myself.

Earth Day Everyday!

A great way to recycle broken up concrete is to make raised planter beds for a vegetable or flower garden.  You can even incorporate a drip watering system (as shown in these pictures).  The best thing about recycled concrete is that it won’t rot like wooden planters.  So do it once and forget about it!
